Outstanding performance in “Distribution Company Performance Award and Rural Distribution Franchisee During the year 2007-08 in entire all Indian Power Utilities

Eastern Power Distribution Company of Andhra Pradesh Limited (APEPDCL) has been awarded Gold Shield for its outstanding performance for the year 2007-08 instituted by the Ministry of Power. Two of its Mandal Mahala Samakyas also has been awarded Gold and Bronze Shields for its meritorious performance during the year 2007-08.

Annual awards have been instituted by Ministry of Power, with a view to inculcate a competitive spirit and to motivate to achieve high level of performance among the power utilities, The evaluations are carried out by Central Electricity Authority (CEA).

In a function held at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi on 17.02.09, Her Excellency Srmt.Prathiba Devising Patil has presented the Gold Shield Award to APEPDCL in the august presence of Shri. Sushil Kumar Shindey, Hon’ble Union Minister of Power. The award was received by Shri. Sri N.Gulzar,Chairman and Managing Director of APEPDCL and Sri B.Ramesh Prasad, Chief General Manager(Operation and Consumer Services) of APEPDCL.

Further it is another great achievement of this Company that two of its Mandal Mahila Samaykhyas under this company has been received awards from President of India for Bronze and Gold Shield Awards for Rural Distribution Franchisee Performance Award.These awards were received by Mandal Mahila Samykhya’s of Kurapam of Vizianagaram and Paderu of Visakhapatnam District.
